Palliative care and the hospice movement in Russia and Ukraine, 1977-2010

We were delighted to host a talk by alumnae Wendy Jones who gave a fascinating presentation about her experience of working in Russia and Ukraine and her pioneering work promoting palliative care.

Living conditions in Russia at the end of the last century could be very primitive but despite huge obstacles making every day life a challenge, Wendy and her colleagues worked hard to improve the lives of so many living there and recalls that time as being hugely rewarding. She was awarded an OBE for her work. Thank you Wendy!
